Why Pikey Peak Yoga Trek

About the Trek :

Pikey peak trek is a newly discovered trekking route in the lower Everest region. It is a short and easy trek that takes you to the Sherpa Buddhist villages of Khumbu region. Depending upon your walking strength and the service you choose, this trekking can be done for 4-8 days. Yoga is the attracting factor of this Pikey Peak Yoga Trek.

The name Pikey is derived from the name of a Sherpa Clan deity. During the month of July the locals hold different celebrations to worship their clan god. This peak offers a majestic view of the Everest Himalayan Range.

The trail passes through beautiful settlements and you can visit the ancient Buddhist Monastery of Thupten Chholing and enjoy the unique Sherpa culture. During the festival season in August cleansing rituals at the sacred lakes are performed with several important Shamans.

The Pikey Danda (hill in Nepali) is most popular for its sunrise and sunset views and one can enjoy the sight of seven 8000-meter peaks: Kanchenjunga, Makalu, Everest, Lhotse, Manaslu, Annapurna, and Shishapangma in Tibet and numerous other peaks like Gauri Shanker, Lhotse Shar, Nuptse, AmaDablem, Mera and Thamserku.
